Happy National Quilting Day!

Happy Saturday! Happy Second Day of Spring! Happy National Quilting Day! Happy to be Alive! So many things to be happy about to. Happy for the rain that is watering my freshly seeded lawn!  Ok, I guess I am in a good mood this morning. Maybe that is because I just finished a photo shoot with my favorite quilting finish EVER! My Swoon is FINALLY finished! It only took me 3 years and 2.5 months to finish, but it is done!

Swoon - https://www.sewbittersweetdesigns.comOur bed is king sized and it doesn’t quite hang over the edges, but I’m ok with that, this allows me to see the entire quilt at once!

Swoon - https://www.sewbittersweetdesigns.comI would need to be about 3 feet taller to get a more over the bed and centered shot, but I think you get the idea!

Swoon Back - https://www.sewbittersweetdesigns.comThis is my backing. I decided to use some of my favorite fat quarters to make a gorgeous star and have a reversible quilt! I love it!

Anne Swoon - https://www.sewbittersweetdesigns.comOh, Anne loves the quilt too! She couldn’t help but jump into on of my pictures. Did you notice the super huge gap? She lost her two front teeth this month!

  1. Congrats on your Finish! I am starting a new Mystery quilt next week. My Downton Abbey Mystery is almost done. Worldwide Quilting day will be busy here. I NEED to get some quilting done on my stack of TBQ items. Love your Reversible quilt backing! Good idea.

Anne looks precious with her toothless grin! And I love the quilt. My swoon is in the stack of to-be-quilted tops. I had planned on a one fabric backing but may have to copy the star on the back – it’s gorgeous!

  3. I’m so happy for you, Melissa. It is a lovely finish, and I bet having that “to-do” finally checked off your list is contributing to your happy mood.

Congratulations! I have a swoon quilt too and it is my favorite. I think I am finally over the pain of how long it took to make it, because I am thinking of making another one. Maybe I’m just crazy.

What a fabulous finish. I have wanted to make a Swoon quilt for some time, I am inspired again by your beautiful quilt.

I’m so glad it’s a good day! I love your finish. Doesn’t matter how long it took, it’s beautiful and it’s finished now. Your back makes it really special, too. I have a couple of quilts that are smaller than they should be to hang over, but they stay in place and help keep me warm in the winter. This one will look so pretty if anyone glances in your bedroom. =)

  8. Beth T. says:

Oh, Melissa, it is so pretty and so cheery! On both sides! Can’t compete with the Miss Anne in those departments, but that’s not a fair comparison. 🙂

  9. Sondra says:

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Just stunning, Melissa. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!XXXXXXXX

  10. Vera says:

Congrats on your finish! It is great you have it double sided. How super cool!

  11. Congratulations… an amazing finish!
