New Little Helper

I’m a pin baster. Especially in the winter, seeing as I only spray baste outside and it is decidedly wet in the Pacific Northwest during the winter.  With my terrible hands though, pin basting is not a fun job. I still like it better than binding but it isn’t much higher on my list…until now.

I broke down yesterday and headed to my local quilt shop, Ruby Street Quiltworks in Tumwater, WA (if you are local to this area, I highly recommend them!), and bought myself a present, the Kwik Klip by Paula Jean Creations.

The quilt I basted yesterday was only 49×49 but it is probably the fastest I have ever pin basted anything! I am so excited about this tool. My fingers did not hurt at all and I was even able to baste some hexies later in the evening while watching Project Runway.

No pictures of the quilt yet, you will have to wait until next week!

Have a wonderful weekend! I will be cleaning and hopefully sewing some bee blocks.

I’ve never tried those…..they look wonderful, tho! So glad you found an option to help your hands! Hugs!

I adore my Kwik Klip! It’s amazing! You don’t have to use the pin grippers. I jUst get big boxes of curved safety pins. It’s so quick and easy! I have tendinitis in both wrists, so gripping things for long periods of time is hard. So glad you found one! Hooray!

Yay for new, useful toys! I’ve been enjoying using my new binding clips tonight, I just wish I’d bought bigger than a 10 pack of them!

I’m glad that you found something that was useful and saved those fingers. I’ve seen these, but since I don’t pin baste, I’ve never bought one. I’m not even sure how they work. =)

Yaay. It is always good to find a tool that makes work easier on our hands. Even with no problems with my hands, that pin basting wears them down.

So glad you found that. I pin baste too and recently purchase this as well. Doesn’t it make the job easier? I was amazed and surprised. I’ll admit my skepticism. LOL.

Hey , I’m the one with R.A. that comments sometimes. I really love your blog. Anyway
I have been using these pins and the Kwic Klip for years. It really is easy on the hands.
My least favorite job in quilting is the pinning of a quilt. So glad you found these to help. Carolyn
