Some times I just get motivated. Last week was one of those times where I was just motivated to finish.
I love the way a quilt top looks against a bright window. Always makes me think of stained glass. This quilt is an original design that sat for almost 3 full years in the UFO pile. I still need to name it and eventually write the pattern for it, but I am glad the top is finally done. I have a plan for the backing too, which is an added bonus! Oh and did I mention the entire project will be made from my stash?!?
Here is a regular front view. I already have the perfect Aurifil thread for quilting this beauty so I should meet my finish by Christmas goal.
The next week and a half will be dedicated to Charity projects. I have a quilt block pattern to write for Do Good Stitches, I am the quilter next month. I also have a bunch of sewing to do for my guild’s QuiltCon charity challenge quilt.
What is on your plate?
Just finishing up more UFO’s before the Holidays and Bonnie Hunter’s next Mystery hit me! Nice flimsy! I like the stained glass effect too. I take pictures of my quilted quilts outside in full sun to see that.
It’s wonderful! I love this pattern. I’m spending this week retreating to my quilt room to work on a number of projects that have been neglected, some of which are charity, and some of which are not. I’m going to be thinking about this pattern all week!
Yay! Good for you! I’m piecing and piecing. Sooo much to finish 🙂
It came out great!! Now, aren’t you glad you decided it was time to finish it??
It came out wonderfully- beautiful!
Love the boldness of your quilt. I’ve volunteered to do less than last QuiltCon charity but am still looking forward to contributing. Good luck with yours.
Congrats on the finish! It looks great…
This is totally stunning! (don’t you love my being late to the party?)
