Happy Wednesday Everyone! Today I am wanted to share with you some of my favorite fat quarter bundles from Fat Quarter Shop. You may notice that these are all kid prints…well, there are 5 special kids in my life all of whom will receive quilts in 2012 and Anne’s God Mother is pregnant, which means there is a 6th on the way who will also receive a special quilt. Kid fabrics are so much fun and Fat Quarter Shop has the most kid lines I have seen at any one shop!

The challenge for me this year is creating a quilt for my oldest nephew. He is going to be 10. Girls are easy, it helps that I am a girl and that the three girls in my life all love pink. Can’t get much simpler. Boys though…it is hard to find fabric geared towards boys, especially not quite teen boys. Check out what Fat Quarter Shop had:

I, too, have a 10 (almost 11) year old nephew. I was so excited to see the Geared For Guys book because it showed me I don’t really have to use guy prints if I use the fabric in a guy way. Score!
You are SEW~WRITE about boy stuff being hard to find! I had a request for a Spiderman pillow case. Well, I found Spiderman fleece, but that’s not what I wanted. I found stickers & toys & masks, but not fabric! Finally, tucked away, in far-off corner of Hancock’s Fabrics (probably hidden, in the hopes that no one would find it!), I found about a yard and a half of cotton Spidey climbing brick walls – SCORE! You know I bought it all!

The very hungry caterpillar is an all time favorite book for kids, now there is fabric to make a quilt. Yesterday a little grade one girl was so upset because she couldn’t find a caterpillar outside, after all she had leaves to feed it. Kids love those caterpillars.
I like Vintage Modern. I’m doing the 2012 BOM with FQS so I need more Vintage.
